The 3rd MOST-Xinjiang Work Consulting Meeting was held recently in Beijing. Minister WAN Gang, Party Chief LI Xueyong, and Party Chief of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Wang Lequan were present at the meeting.

Key issues discussed in the meeting included intensifying support for Xinjiang to propel its leapfrog development, nurturing new strategic industries through technological innovation, developing backbone industries with Xinjiang characteristics, maintaining stability, supporting S&T cooperation between Xinjiang and other countries under the framework of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, etc.
