On 6 June 2007, the Coordinating Conference on Kick-off of Phase II of Demonstration for Fuel-Cell Bus Commercialization in China was held in Jiading Campus of Tongji University. The attendees conducted sufficient discussion on the preliminary scheme for initiation and organization of phase II of the project and deployed the next-step work.

The Ministry of Finance and MOST in association with Beijing and Shanghai jointly implemented “Demonstration for Fuel-Cell Bus Commercialization in China” in March 2003. It is a project supported by Global Environment Facility and United Nations Development Program. During phase I, 3 fuel cell buses have already been purchased through international tendering for demonstration in Beijing. So far phase I has fulfilled the set objective.
