The Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment broke ground in Shenzhen Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base on October 13, 2007. It is a significant international cooperation project in the area of basic research. Vice Minister CHENG Jinpei of Science and Technology, Vice President BAI Chunli of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice Governor ZHONG Yangsheng of Guangdong Province, Director-General ZHANG Xianen of Basic Research, MOST, and representatives of the US Department of Energy addressed the ceremony.
