The S&T Action Plan for Nationwide Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction was jointly issued lately by MOST, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Environment and Resources Protection Committee of the National People’s Congress and the Committee of Population, Resources and Environment of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The Plan includes eight actions to be taken, namely indicators for tapping the potential of nationwide energy conservation and emissions reduction; publicity and education programs; R&D, integration and wide application of key technologies; technological service systems; demonstration projects; and comprehensive performance assessment and social oversight.
