On the morning of December 12th of 2008, Vice-Minister CAO Jianlin met with Dr. Simonic, the newly sworn-in ambassador to China and former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia.

CAO briefed on the S&T management system and development of China, and was glad to note that Mr. Ambassador is not only an active statesman, but also a well-established scientist; Chinese side is willing to help him better understand China’s current S&T development of China. CAO also expressed his hope that the two join hands in promoting bilateral S&T cooperation.

According to Mr. Ambassador, as a scientist, he pays great attention to S&T and the big role of S&T in developing the two countries’ friendship. Impressed by China’s S&T achievement, he expressed his willingness to facilitate mutual S&T communication and cooperation.
