High Tech Products Catalog for Foreign Investment (2003)
To further attract and encourage foreign investment in high tech businesses in China, introducing advanced proven technologies from abroad while strengthening domestic digestion and absorption of such imported technologies and enhancing China's own proprietary innovation capacity, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Commerce have jointly prepared and published High Tech Products Catalog for Foreign Investment (2003) (hereinafter referred to as the Catalog) on the basis of the previous edition of Catalog of China High Tech Products. the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Commerce gathered together experts in related fields to review and finalize the high technology and products listed in the Catalog. 721 products in the previous Catalog of China High Tech Products have remained their existence in the new Catalog with the addition of 196 products which mark a large gap between China and foreign countries or call for urgent development in the country.
