On the morning of March 21, the interview of candidates, vying for Deputy Director-General (Director-General ranking) of China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) was held in the office building of MOST.
In accordance with the needs of CSTEC and the principle of “openness, fairness, competition and basis of merits”, the meeting was organized by the Department of Personnel, so as to further implement the Provisional Regulations on Public Selection of Leading Cadres, promote the reform of personnel system, expand the visions of candidates, adopt the competition mechanism, inspire the enthusiasm of people concerned, help discover talented personnel and boost the scientific, democratic and systematic development of cadre selection. Relevant leaders of MOST presented the interview.
Director-General LIU Zhixin, the Department of Personnel noted that, “It is the very first time to select Director-General-level cadres by means of interview, to adopt the means of structural interview, and to invite experts from human resources advisory bodies to organize the interview in MOST. Also present at the interview are staff from related departments and organizations. The public’s presence and participation, according to Director-General LIU, is conducive to boosting the public awareness of and involvement in cadre selection, where they can practice their right of selection and supervision.”
