The 14th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), themed as “ITS for a Better Life”, was inaugurated in Beijing Exhibition Center on October 9, 2007. More than 2000 representatives from over 50 countries and regions attended the Opening Ceremony.
Over 170 Chinese and foreign enterprises participated in the exhibitions, which covered an indoor area of over 15,000 square meters and an outdoor area of 3,000 square meters. 206 academic meetings were held during the Congress from October 9 to 13.
In addition, the Congress also included major activities for discussion on the sustainable development of transport, such as Ministerial Forum, Major Forum and Enterprise Forum with an aim to deepen the Congress’ impact on the policy-making on transportation and promote the high-level changes and collaboration between different countries and metropolitans.
Held prior to the 2008 Olympics, the 14th World Congress on ITS could both serve the Beijing Olympics and promote the national ITS development.
