On 28 August, 2006, SHANG Yong, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, was invited to take part in the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Sino-Russian Science and Technology Show—Sino-Russian Fair of High-tech Products, which was held in Manchuria. The Vice Minister also visited the exhibition.
This Show was co-hosted by MOST, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the people’s government of the Inner-Mongolian Autonomous Region. It was an important S&T event in the “Year of Russia in China”. Some 1,600 new technologies and products were exhibited, which were brought to the show by exhibitors from 15 Chinese provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Heilongjiang and 20 Russian states and municipalities including Moscow, Chita and New Siberia. The show was a display of achievements in electronics, machinery, chemistry, bio-medicine, new materials, etc.
