On February 8，in the company of CHEN Chuanbao, Director of the State S&T Award Office, Vice Minister LI Xueyong paid a visit to academician WU Wenjun, laureate of the State Preeminent Scientific and Technical Award, and extended spring festival greetings to him.

Vice Minister LI Xueyong asked about the life and work of academician WU and highly commended his ground-breaking contribution to the study of mathematics mechanization and the development of an excellent research team in this field. Vice Minister also briefed the academician on implementing the spirit of the National S&T Conference and deploying the Outline of the National Medium and Long-term S&T Plan. Besides, he sought to WU’s opinion on China’s S&T development. Academician WU expressed his thanks to MOST for its long-term support to the research of mathematics mechanization and hoped that MOST would further facilitate the commercialization of research results in this area that have actual application prospects.
