MOST held the National S&T Work Conference on February 9^th in Beijing to summarize the S&T work in 2008 and prepare for 2009. Against the backdrop of global financial crisis, the conference aimed to reduce the adverse impacts, transform developing pattern of the economy, facilitate industrial restructuring, expand domestic demand, boost employment, and promote steady and fast economic growth.
