The Second Ministry-Province Consultation Meeting was held by MOST and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province on July 18 in Kunming. WAN Gang, Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Minister of MOST, ZHANG Laiwu, Vice Minister of MOST, QIN Guangrong, Governor of Yunnan Province, HE Duanqi, Vice Governor of Yunnan attended the event. The meeting was chaired by VM ZHANG Laiwu.

Representatives from MOST and Yunnan Province discussed a range of cooperation priorities. They are:

·To facilitate the construction of industrialization bases of new nonferrous materials in Yunnan Province.

·To advance the S&T and industrial bases for TCM modernization.

·To further propel the construction of the platform for development and sharing of the unique animal resources in Yunnan Province.

·To promote the “Program to Bring Prosperity to Border Areas and Improve People’s Lives There” through science and technology in Yunnan Province.

·To improve the environment for S&T development, and strengthen institutional innovations.
