2009 Northeast Asia High-Tech Expo was held in Shenyang recently. CPPCC Vice Chairman and Minister of MOST WAN Gang attended the opening ceremony. Guests from over 21 countries and regions, including DPRK, Japan, Mongolia, ROK, and Russia, were also present at the event.

The expo, with the theme of Innovation, Cooperation, Development, and All-Win, was sponsored by MOST, State Intellectual Property Office, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Association of Science and Technology, and provincial governments of Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang. The expo hall covered an area of 30,000 square meters with over 2,000 booths. 387 companies from both China and other Northeast Asian countries were attracted to the expo and they showcased 1062 items featuring S&T achievements and high-tech products in Northeast Asia. Among them, 400 items won National S&T Awards, which embodied the highest level of S&T innovation of China. The 12 branches of Chinese Academy of Sciences also participated in the event with their latest research achievements.
