The 2009 International S&T Conference and Expo on Traditional Medicine was unveiled in Guangzhou on November 9.

The two events were co-sponsored by 14 Chinese ministries, including MOST, the Ministry of Health, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and State Food and Drug Administration, and organized by Guangdong Provincial People’s Government. Over 2,800 scientists, entrepreneurs, and governmental officials from 18 countries were present.

The conference consisted of the opening ceremony, reports, 9 academic sessions, and 8 activities on special themes. The expo, with the theme of “Big Health Industry”, showcased the research findings of traditional medicines and relevant health products.
