The IPR Consulting Meeting, organized by MOST and the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), was held on December 4, Beijing. Party Secretary LI Xueyong, SIPO Commissioner TIAN Lipu and Vice Commissioner GAN Shaoning addressed the event. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on implementing IPR strategy in S&R activities and MOST-SIPO cooperation in the future. All of these priorities are important measures to carry out the national IPR strategy against the backdrop of global financial crisis.

Both MOST and SIPO expressed that they would strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and jointly promulgate IPR regulations on major national S&T projects with other government agencies. Besides, they agreed to conduct extensive cooperation in key technologies, including patent analysis, research and promotion of innovative approaches, processing and utilization of patent database and information, IPR financing and study on IPR strategies and policies.
