The 1st China (Bo’ao) Agriculture Innovation Forum, co-sponsored by MOST, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Hainan Provincial Government, was unveiled on January 15 in Bo’ao.

More than 800 representatives from relevant ministries, research institutions, universities, and enterprises were present at the event. Vice Chairman WAN Gang of CPPCC, Vice Chair Chen Xiwen of the Leading Group on Rural Work of the Central Committee, Governor Luo Baoming of Hainan Provincial Government, and Vice Minister of Agriculture Zhang Taolin addressed the opening ceremony. CAS academicians Yuan Longping and Li Zhensheng, as well as those in charge of prestigious domestic seed companies delivered keynote speeches during the forum.

With the theme of developing seed technology, and ensuring food security, the forum was centered on seed technology innovation, industrial development, and measures to facilitate innovation.
