The Inaugural Ceremony of China-US Humanities Exchange Mechanism was held on May 25 in Beijing. Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong and US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton co-chaired the first meeting under the mechanism.

It is the highest-level mechanism for exchanges in education, science, technology, culture and sports between the two governments, which plays a pivotal role in promoting China-US relations.
