The Hebei S&T Department and Agriculture Department teamed up with experts to assess the output of Zhaoxian County’s demonstration zone of “grain harvest through S&T” lately. They found that the average per mu yield of a water-saving wheat variety called Shimai XV hit 646.7 kilogram, presenting another record high following the 637.9 kilogram/mu of Gaocheng demonstration zone and the 635.93 kilogram/mu of Xinji demonstration zone in 2005, and the 640.14 kilogram/mu of Zhengding demonstration zone in 2006.
