A workshop on project data collection of the 973 Program in the field of resources and environment was convened in Beijing on July 3, 2007. Participants included 15 chief scientists and the Department of Basic Research, MOST.

The collection and management of research project data are expected to significantly integrate scattered data, expand their application scope and enhance the management of data and projects, as were agreed by the chief scientists who also aired views on data contents, secrecy, data standards and so on.
