Sponsored by MOST and organized by Yuan Longping Hi-tech Agriculture Co., LTD.(Longping Hi-tech), the “2007 International Training Program on Hybrid Rice” opened in Changsha, Hunan Province on 13 August. Present at the opening ceremony were Academician YUAN Longping, also known as the “Father of Hybrid Rice”, officials from China S&T Exchange Center and Hunan Provincial S&T Department as well as the Pakistani client representatives of Longping Hi-tech.

25 trainees from Bangladesh and Pakistan would be involved in the 20-day training course. Through lectures, visits and practice, they would get to know China’s development and achievements on hybrid rice, understand the basic theory, and better comprehend the technologies for production & process of hybrid rice seeds and high yield as well.
