The 309th session of the Xiangshan Science Conference was held in Beijing on September 25 to 27, 2007. The theme is “Soft Matter Science: Latest Progress and Future Development Trends”.

Experts identified major research objectives and important scientific issues in China, and put forward suggestions on integrating academic disciplines such as biology, physics and chemistry, and speeding up the China’s research on soft matter science.
