A training program for staff managing S&T information was held in Yulin City of Shaanxi Province by China Rural Technology Development Center. 

The training briefed the audience on the general idea, working requirement and platform installation of information system in rural areas. The program also laid solid foundation for coordinated, sound and sustained development of agricultural S&T information centers.

Seven S&T information centers were set up in seven impoverished counties in the Dabieshan area with sponsorship from the Ministry of Science and Technology and Microsoft (China) Co, Ltd. These centers are equipped with a donation of 217 laptops and desktops.
