From October 18 to 19, 2007, the Panel in the field of advanced energy technology under 863 Program convened 2007 Workshop on Strategies in the Field of Advanced Energy Technology under 863 Program in Shanghai.

The experts exchanged views on topics including directions and key tasks of S&T development in the energy sector in the next three years under the 11th Five-Year Plan, innovation mechanism of energy high-tech research and industry-university-academia synergy, and put forward constructive suggestions on key technologies of energy conservation and emission reduction, development of renewable energy resources, control of greenhouse gases, construction of new platform for innovation in the energy sector, how energy science and technology can sustain the sound and rapid development of the national economy, relationship between government policies and S&T development, selection of S&T projects and input mechanism.
