On Oct. 24, 2007, EU Symposium on Clean City Transportation Project was convened in Beijing. It was co-chaired by Mr. Simon Whitehouse from EU and Professor Ouyang Minggao from Tsinghua University.

The symposium introduced the efforts made in EU in the following areas: demonstration of fuel cell buses and their latest development, the demonstration of hydrogen engine buses as well as the hydrogen filling stations, its safety and general information, etc.

This symposium served as a platform for information exchanges between demonstration organizations in China and Europe. It is of great help to the demonstration of fuel cell buses and infrastructure program in China, and has provided relevant experience for Beijing and Shanghai to draw upon.
