On Oct 28th to 31st, 2007, the Fourth China-ASEAN Expo opened in the Nanning International Exhibition Center in southern China’s Guangxi Province. Chinese Vice Premier ZENG Peiyan, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Laos Bouasone Bouphavamh, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Crown Prince of Brunei Al-Muhatadee Billah attended the opening ceremony.
The Expo is divided into four pavilions---Pavilion of Commodity Trade, Pavilion of Investment Cooperation, Pavilion of Agricultural Applicable Technology, and Pavilion of Cities of Charm, with a total of 3,400 booths and 1,908 participating enterprises.
The Expo covered eight fields, including food production, meat, egg, milk, agricultural product processing, agricultural speciality products, food security, agricultural equipment, and energy saving and emission reduction technology in agriculture, mainly displaying the advanced and mature scientific and technical achievements in the above fields applied to China's agriculture and rural production. Such achievements correspond to correspond to technical needs of ASEAN countries and boost huge potentials for application. It has attracted broad interest of the representatives from ASEAN countries. With a notable effect, this Expo has got close attention from Vice Premier ZENG Peiyan and leaders from Cambodian and other ASEAN countries.
