On November 9th of 2007, Vice Minister LI Xueyong met with President David Naylor of the University of Toronto. LI introduced China’s national strategy of innovation, the Outline of National Medium- and Long-term S&T Development Plan (2006-2020), and China’s bilateral and multilateral S&T cooperation. He welcomed the participation of the University of Toronto in the China-Canada S&T cooperation.

President Naylor introduced the University’s ties with Chinese counterparts and thanked MOST for setting up the China-Canada intergovernmental fund for cooperation in science and technology which provided valuable opportunities for joint research. Both sides also exchanged ideas on how to promote the commercialization of research findings.
