On 28-29 November of 2007, the International Forum on Science Parks was held in Beijing, co-sponsored by MOST and the Beijing Municipal Government. The Torch High Tech Industrial Development Centre of MOST, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park and the Haidian District Government of Beijing jointly organized the event. Participants came from science parks in eleven foreign countries including France, the US and Japan as well as from the 54 national high-tech zones in China. Vice Minister LI Xueyong of MOST addressed the opening ceremony and Vice Minister CAO Jianlin of MOST chaired the sessions.
The Forum aimed at providing an international platform for high-tech zones to exchange ideas, enhance mutual understanding and promote technological and economic cooperation.
The Forum also issued the Beijing Declaration on Innovation, Cooperation and Development.
