The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a key element for developing the Computerized Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS) in enterprises. It is also one of the basic technological means for enterprises to pursuit the agile manufacturing strategy and for workshops to realize agile production. Recently, under the auspices of the 863 Program, the R&D project on MES Critical Technology in the Papermaking Industry, undertaken by the Tiger Forest &Paper Group, had scored achievements. 

The project has effectively explored the cutting edge technology, and its valuable achievements will serve as a good demonstration for informatizing the country’s papermaking industry.
