Since 2006, the Zhangping local government has invested more than RMB80 million in the integrated treatment of environmental pollution to carry out the ecological forest and natural forest protection project along the Jiulong River. The city has created 125,300 mou of forests through tree plantation, and 76,200 mou of forests through mountain enclosure. It has also enclosed the naked mountains for governance, and saved 7800 mou of land from water loss and soil erosion.

Through their efforts, Zhangping city has gained effective control of environmental pollution, with all the environmental indicators in the regions meeting the standards.
