Under the framework of the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Agreement between the Chinese and Belgian Governments, the project of the “Super-High Pulsed Magnetic Field Development and Study” twice received governmental funding in 2002 and 2007. The project was jointly implemented by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the Catholic University of Louvain of Belgium.
HUST built the Pulsed High Magnetic Field Laboratory on the basis of the project. The Catholic University of Louvain of Belgium sent experts to China each year and received research personnel from HUST to study in the European High Magnetic Field Laboratory. The two sides have carried out very enthusiastic cooperation.
