A mid-term evaluation meeting for 31 projects approved in 2005 under the “973 Program” was held in Beijing in December 2007. The meeting had eight separate sessions respectively in the areas of agriculture, energy, information, resource & environment, population & health, materials, interdisciplinary research and frontline research.
The review indicates that the projects meet the plan of the “973 Program” and are well targeted at the key scientific issues in the national socio-economic development as well as scientific progress. Implementations are carried out very well, completing the planned tasks and achieving the expected progress.
