The national plant germplasm sharing platform covers various resources such as crops, vivacious and asexual crops, forest plants (including bamboos, vines and flowers), medicinal plants, tropical crops, wild plants and forage plants. Information has been shared, which improves the utilization of resources.
The project owes its success to the Plant Germplasm Information Sharing Network which contains information on 305,000 pieces of germplasm resources and benefits 200,000 users in 2007. The project provides huge amount of materials for science popularization, improving the public awareness on plant germplasm protection.
