MOST, in collaboration with CPC Publicity Department and Jilin Provincial Government, held an activity of “Boosting Farmers’ Income through S&T” on January 26th-27th, 2008 in Shuangyang District, Changchun, capital of Jilin Province.

At the launching ceremony, Vice Minister WU Zhongze, on behalf of the Science and Technology Ministry donated RMB 100,000 worth of an innovative lab to the No.2 Experimental Primary School of Shuangyang District and some farming materials, books and CD on S&T to the farmers.

The activity brought a donation of more than 5,000 popular science books, distributed over 30,000 popular science materials and had over 3000 farmers trained. Meanwhile, a lecture on how to build the new countryside through science and technology was given to the local carders and agriculture technicians.
