With the support of MOST, the microorganism resources platform project has developed a standard system for resources description and operation, enhancing China’s resources description and management standardization.

Taking into account the characters and preservation requirements of the resources and needs for social sharing, the researchers have developed a whole set of standardized system for microorganism resources with 60 description norms, 38 technical rules, 8 data standards and data quality control norms. The system specifies category description, information collection and sorting, preservation techniques, resource sharing, safe operation and national microorganism resources management.
