As a major province for agricultural production and a key grain security base in China,Jilin Province has obtained policy support and strong investment from the central government in the past five years for the initiation of agricultural research achievements transfer projects, taking the lead in terms of project number and total fund throughout the country.

Jilin is an important commodity grain production base in China, with the dominance of the planting industry. It has played an indispensable role for securing national food safety over the years with its real advantages in technology R&D in corn, rice and soybean. By integrating its research strengths and achievements, Jilin has won national support on 27 projects related to the three crops, accounting for 35.1% of the total.
