On February 22nd, 2008, Vice Minister CHENG Jinpei and SHANG Yong visited China International Biotechnology and Biomedicine Innovation Cluster and International Biomedicine United Research Institute in Tianjin.

The Ministers were updated on the progress in the innovation cluster and research institute by Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission and National Center for Biotechnology Development and discussed the next step work plan. They also put forward suggestions for the promotion of the biomedicine industry in Binhai New Area so as to drive the joint development of the industry in the Tianjin-Beijing-Heibei region.

The officials from the Tianjin local government expressed their appreciation to MOST’s support in Tianjin and their willingness to build both the cluster and the institute into world-class biomedicine R&D and industrialization bases through indigenous innovation.
