“International Seminar on Information Platform Construction for Scientific and Technological Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development in China’s Rural Areas” was held in Beihai, Guangxi on Feb.19th, which was jointly organized by China Rural Technology Development Center of MOST, China Office of UNDP, China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges of the Ministry of Commerce.

During the meeting, representatives brainstormed and exchanged constructive views extensively on the role of S&T special commissioner system, innovation of poverty alleviation mechanism, and information platform construction played in improving grassroots S&T service system, challenges and international experiences in informatization process in rural areas, the role enterprises and civil societies played in rural informatization and relevant policies and suggestions.
