On February 29th, 2008, Vice Minister SHANG Yong met seven American Chinese professors returning from the Medical School of the University of Pittsburgh for innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives. Mr. RAO Zihe, president of the Nankai University attended the meeting.

SHANG welcomed the Chinese professors headed by Prof. WU Chuanyue and spoke highly of their passions. The seven professors thanked the Vice Minister for his encouragement and support. They said that while working on the establishment of a molecular medical institute in Nankai University after returning to China, they will also take the initiatives to participate in the building of the Tianjin International Biological and Medical Joint Institute so as to contribute to the development of China International Biotechnology and Biomedical Innovation Cluster.
