Recently the China Semiconductor Materials International Conference, CSMIC 2008, was held in Shanghai. The conference was jointly sponsored by the SEMI China and the new material sector of hi-tech of the country. The CSMIC is currently the largest international technical symposium specialized in semiconductor materials and technics in China. CAO Jianlin, Vice Minister of the Science and Technology attended the Conference and delivered the opening speech.

During the two-day Symposium discussions were made with focus on seven special topics on semiconductor materials and technological integration, optical lithography technology and relevant materials, CMP and cleaning technology and relevant materials, film electroplating and etching and relevant materials, encapsulation materials, cutting edge semiconductor technology and materials and silicon materials.
