During the period from March 31st to April 3rd, Vice Minister CAO Jianlin made a special investigation trip to Qingdao and Zaozhuang in Shandong Province. The investigation mainly covered relevant work on scientific and technological innovation, the implementation of the Joint Action Plan of High-Speed Train Independent Innovation, and the implementation of major special scientific and technological projects in coal chemical processing sector.

The vice minister gave full affirmation and high praise to the scientific and technological innovations of the enterprises in Shangdong province. He emphasized that relevant parties should vigorously promote the implementation of scientific and technological innovation and positively explore new approaches to realize the development of sciences, relying on independent innovation and industrial structure optimization. Relevant parties should also accelerate the establishment of the market oriented technical innovation system in which the enterprises play the leading role and that combines the efforts of the enterprises, universities and research institutes, so as to contribute more to the economic growth.
