The other day Cao Jianlin, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, led a group of specialists on an inspection tour of Yankuang Group in Shandong Province to find out how the enterprise is doing in independent innovation. Members of the inspection group include officials from the Department of High- and New-Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology, energy specialists, and representatives from enterprises engaged in generating electricity with coal gas.

Vice Minister Cao Jianlin spoke highly of the practice of Yankuang Group in exploring technologies that utilize advanced energy sources by relying on independent innovations. He hoped that the Group’s successful experience in independent innovation would be summarized to find a successful mode of technological development in the energy field. He said that we would give full play to the leading and supporting role of science and technology, unite people from all fields to solve the practical problems in China’s energy sector to ensure the sustainable and long-term social and economic development.
