On 25 April of 2008, Vice Minister SHANG Yong held talks with the visiting President of Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment (ENEA), Mr. Luigi Paganetto to exchange views on enhancing China-Italy collaboration in the field of environment and new & renewable energy. Also present were the presidents of ANGELANTONI, TOLO ENERGIA and DONATI, three Italian enterprises developing new energies.

ENEA is among the first batch of Italian research institutes working with China and holds a significant position in the China-Italy science and technology collaboration. In 2006, SHANG and Paganetto signed in Rome a new MOST-ENEA cooperation MOU.
