On May 14, 2008, MOST promulgated the Manual for Emergency Analysis and Testing in Earthquake Relief to address the issues of safety assessment of damaged buildings, drinking water sanitation, dangerous chemicals, unidentified articles, epidemics, public health, food safety, geological disasters and environmental pollution. The manual comprises nine sections, namely, technical support for instrument and device testing, technology for quick safety assessment of buildings and quick testing technologies for water sanitation, microbe and leaking of dangerous gases, etc.
