On June 25th, 2008, CAO Jianlin,Vice-Minister of MOST and Matyushkov, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the republic of Belarus, co-charied the 8th China-Belarus S&T Cooperation Commission Meeting in Minsk, capital of Belarus.

At the meeting, the two sides updated their own latest S&T development, discussed the implementation of 2006-2008 JCM projects and identified 19 new projects for bilateral cooperation between the two governments from 2008 to 2010. They also analyzed the status quo and problems in China-Belarus S&T cooperation, and proposed suggestions for resolving those problems.
