The joint R&D between the Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science (SYNL) and the China National Erzhong Group Co. has succeeded in casting quality 100-ton hollow steel ingots. This is the first time that China has cast hollow steel ingots with the cooling technology by large temperature differences. 

SYNL will continue its close cooperation with the Erzhong Group in developing the manufacturing technology of 200-ton and 300-ton hollow steel ingots. The aim is to raise the country’s tonnage and performance of hollow steel ingot production to world-class standards.
