The healthy running of the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube) with its large-span roof structure is part and parcel of a harmonious Olympics. To fulfill the Hi-tech Olympics aspiration, the 863 Program supports the project on Monitoring and Warning Technologies for Large Olympic Stadiums. A monitoring and warning system for Water Cube’s steel-and-membrane structure has been developed and successfully applied.
The system provides scientific data on Water Cube’s performance and state of safety, and technically guarantees the smooth operation of the venue.
