The seminar on developing first-class high-tech hubs was held on August 15 in Chengdu. Torch High Tech Industrial Development Center of MOST, Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, High-Tech Industrial Parks in Shenzhen, Xi’an, Wuhan, Shanghai and Chengdu signed the “Chengdu Consensus”, in which they made commitment to adopt new economic development pattern,, support innovation, and enhance competitiveness of Chinese high-tech industry.

The six localities have taken initiatives to develop first-rate hi-tech clusters as proposed by Premier Wen Jiaobao on his visit to Zhongguancun in 2005.
