Efficient and safe information transmission has attracted the public attention. Quantum communications technology, which is based on principles of quantum mechanics, has become a hotspot across the world for its high efficiency and absolute safety.

Supported by “Quantum Adjustment and Control Research”, the key scientific research program, Prof. Pan Jianwei from University of Science and Technology of China led a team working on “Experimental Realization of Quantum Repeater”. The findings were published on Natureon August 28. The university is now making preparation for the setting up of Hefei National Laboratory of Microscale Physical Sciences.

For the significance of the research, Nature praised it for “removing a huge stumbling block in quantum communications” in the news release “Quantum Boost”.
