MOST and National Research Council of Canada (NRC) renew the S&T Cooperation MOU with a term of four years. MOU listed hydrogen fuel cell technology as the priority of initial cooperation between the two parties, and included areas of common interests as priority. MOU also proposed a steering committee be set up by MOST and NRC, which was supposed to hold an annual meeting to decide cooperation fields, methods and jointly-supported projects.

NRC is a special organization of the Canadian government for scientific research and management. It is composed of over 20 institutes (centers) all over Canada in a variety of fields including life sciences, physics, engineering, technology and industry support.
