On September 11th, 2008, MOST and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Nationality Autonomous Region held the first ministry-region work meeting and entrenched the system.

The meeting discussed major S&T demand in the current socio-economic development of Ningxia, and decided to focus on the establishment of green agro-product base, development of energy and chemical base in east Ningxia and ecological civilization, technological upgrading of unique new material industry and regional innovation system in mid-south Ningxia.
